Icelandair Klaustur is a modern 3-star hotel located mid-way between Myrdalsjokull and the largest glacier in Europe - Vatnajokull (260 km from Reykjavik city centre). The hotel is situated in one of the most beautiful areas of Iceland, a short distance from Skaftafell national park, Vatnajokull and within easy reach of the powerful and mysterious Lakagigar area. The hotel is in the village of Kirkjubaejarklaustur, surrounded by a varied and beautiful natural landscape. This south eastern region of Iceland is exceptionally mild - statistically proven to have one of the highest average temperatures in Iceland. The hotel offers 57 rooms spread over two floors. 36 standard rooms, of which 10 are single. The swimming pool at Hotel Klaustur is open all summer and there is a golf course only 5 km from the hotel. The standard rooms are decorated to a high standard and offer all the amenities one would expect, it is furnished in a nice decor with modern colours and rich furnishings. The restaurant seats as many as 150 people so is ideal for both quiet meals and large gatherings.
