The place at which the church of St. Wolfgang stands today was already a highly frequented place of worship during pre-Christian times.
Following Christianisation by Bishop Wolfgang of Regensburg, St. Wolfgang became a pilgrimage site and one of the most important pilgrimage centres of the Middle Ages.
Today, it is hotel's guests who seek the unique beauty of this place directly on the lake and find both quiet and reflection there. * Housed in a building that dates back to 1878, this tasteful hotel was completely renovated in 2001 and comprises 4 floors with a total of 72 rooms.
* Single rooms some with balcony, ideal for our guests travelling on their own or also possible as a childrens’ room with an adjoining door.
* Single rooms with lakeside balcony, a magnificent view awaits you in the single room with a comfortable room size, here, we can also offer you rooms with adjoining doors.
* Double rooms toward Rosslgasse, our standard category, small but nice, for our price-conscious guests. Of course, our standard category also has all of the amenities of the Rössl comfort.
* Double rooms some with balcony, This category offers you a wide variety of styles – don’t forget to notify us of our wishes – modern, or perhaps preferably romantic. Our romantic rooms are situated in the oldest wing of the hotel, above the gateway arch, in the so-called “Pöckl or Linder house”. The wooden ceilings in the rooms date back to the 17th and 18th centuries. In this double room category, we are also pleased to offer you our family room. Children sleep separately and families also find enough space to also stay in the hotel at a reasonable price.
* Double room with lakeside balcony, through the lakeside windows, the lake is reflected at your feet, you can actually forget your everyday life now – you are on holiday.
* Emperor’s room, We don’t know whether and when emperor stayed at the Weissen Rössl, but in any case, he and his family would have stayed in the emperor’s room, of course, with a south-facing balcony facing the lake!
